Northern Slovakia continues to be under warnings for strong winds in the mountains. They affect areas where Banská Bystrica, Brezno and Liptovský Mikuláš are located. Meteorologists warn that windy weather will persist in the mountains during both weekend days. The change comes after a warmer period and according to forecasts, snow may also appear in higher elevations. Warnings therefore apply mainly to mountain areas, where movement in the terrain could be riskier than under normal conditions. teraz.sk ↗

The Public Health Office of the Slovak Republic warned that strong wind can cause injuries from falls or from being struck by loose objects or tree branches. The risk may increase especially in mountain environments, when moving in forests and around trees or unsecured structures. presovak.sk ↗

The weather is expected to change in the following days according to the development of the weekend cooling. Residents and visitors to mountain areas should therefore monitor current warnings and adjust their outdoor movement accordingly, especially when planning hiking or travel through mountain sections.
