1. Who we are
HotInfo is a Slovak news aggregator that automatically collects and categorizes articles from public RSS sources. The goal is to provide up-to-date information from multiple media outlets in one place.
2. What data we collect
Automatically:
- Technical data (IP address, browser type, operating system) — only for security logs.
- Traffic (visited pages, visit time, referrer) — anonymized via Google Analytics 4 (with your consent).
- Preferences (theme, language) — stored only locally in your browser.
Essential:
- Session cookies for proper site functionality.
- Security logs (IP, user-agent) for protection against attacks and bots.
3. Cookies
We use cookies in two categories:
Essential
Session, language, cookie consent. Cannot be disabled — the site does not work without them.
Analytics (Google Analytics 4)
Anonymized traffic measurement. Activated only with your explicit consent (Google consent banner).
You can revoke consent at any time by clearing cookies in your browser.
4. How we protect your data
- All communication is encrypted via HTTPS (TLS 1.2+).
- Servers in the EU (Forpsi, Slovakia), access restricted by SSH keys and fail2ban.
- Minimization principle — we collect only data necessary for operation.

Under GDPR (EU Regulation 2016/679), you have the following rights:
- Right of access — To know what data we hold about you.
- Right to erasure — To request deletion of your personal data.
- Right to data portability — To receive your data in a structured format.
- Right to object — To object to processing of personal data.
