Tomáš Chorý will no longer play for Slavia Prague. Coach Jindřich Trpišovský announced this before the third Champions League match against Fenerbahçe in Istanbul. The forward was dropped after Saturday's goalless match against Hradec Králové, during which he received a red card. irozhlas.cz ↗
Chorý made an inappropriate gesture toward the referee in the final minutes of the match. It was another controversial incident during his time at Slavia. In the past, he had also faced criticism for physical altercations and other transgressions, which turned him from a former fan favorite into a target of sharp reactions from the public and former players. isport.cz ↗
Agent David Nehoda stated that Chorý originally wanted to continue playing in the Czech Republic. However, after the latest incident, he admitted to a change of plan and a search for a foreign move. It is not yet clear whether Slavia will terminate cooperation with the player immediately, or whether it will first address his further role at the club. eurofotbal.cz ↗
Trpišovský is simultaneously preparing for the match against Fenerbahçe, against whom Slavia will play for the fifth time. When analyzing the Turkish opponent, he compared their prominent player to Chorý in terms of atypical build and physical strength. The forward's departure could open up space for the coach to change the Prague team's style of play. Further developments will depend on the stance of Slavia's management and on potential interest from foreign clubs. eurofotbal.cz ↗
