Paris Saint-Germain achieved a historic advance to the Champions League final for the second year in a row. After a convincing 5:4 home victory against Bayern Munich, the Parisians made it through the semifinal also in the second leg, drawing 1:1 in Munich. The French press described PSG's performance across both matches as heroic, with a key contribution from forwards Ousmane Dembélé and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who were named as the decisive players in these confrontations. Coach Luis Enrique is proving with this team that it belongs among Europe's elite, having managed to eliminate an opponent as strong as Bayern. Parisian fans experienced an ecstatic mood after qualifying. France24 ↗
In the other Champions League semifinal, Arsenal advanced to the final by defeating Atlético Madrid 1:0 on their home ground. The aggregate score of both matches was 2:1 in favor of the Gunners. The decisive goal was scored by Bukayo Saka, securing Arsenal's place in the final, where they will meet Paris Saint-Germain. sport.sk ↗
Dramatic twists continue in Ligue 1. Nantes secured a convincing 3:0 victory over Olympique Marseille, which practically buried OM's hopes of participating in next season's Champions League. This win means a favorable shift in the table for Nantes, two points ahead of the play-off spot against Auxerre. Marseille thus finds itself in a catastrophic situation with minimal chances of salvaging its European ambitions. sport.sk ↗
Despite advancing to the Champions League final, Paris Saint-Germain faces serious challenges in the domestic league. In recent rounds it has only managed a draw with Lorient, representing a significant loss of points. Lens, meanwhile, failed to score against Nice and also only got a draw, meaning it was unable to fully capitalize on PSG's slip-up. The situation in the title race remains very open. Le Figaro ↗
In other news from Ligue 1, Lyon has shown itself, with the latest developments, to be a strong candidate for qualifying for European competitions. The home side, including Slovak goalkeeper Dominik Greif, was backed by the management in the match against Rennes. On the other hand, Metz has been officially relegated. In the second division, Troyes became champions, while Saint-Étienne and Le Mans finished in less satisfying positions. The weeks before the end of the season remain decisive for all teams in pursuit of their goals. Le Monde ↗
