All four goals fell only from the 80th minute onward. Werder first reduced the deficit, and in injury time Niclas Füllkrug secured the equalizer. Füllkrug came on against his former club, and his goal had exceptional significance for the course of the match. Some players tone down their celebrations after scoring against a former team, but Füllkrug celebrated his goal. He later explained why he decided to react this way. Welt ↗

The thirty-three-year-old striker scored for Werder for the fourth consecutive match. His performances once again sparked speculation about a possible return to the German national team, though Füllkrug does not want to talk about returning to the squad. Tagesspiegel ↗

Dortmund thus squandered a two-goal lead and gained only a point. Werder, on the other hand, confirmed that even in matches where they fall behind for a long time, they can exploit their opponent's mistakes in the closing stages and come away with points. WDR Nachrichten ↗
