Spanish football defender Marc Cucurella has transferred from FC Chelsea to Real Madrid. The Spanish club confirmed his arrival on Monday, June 15, and the player agreed to a contract with the "white ballet" until June 30, 2032. idnes.cz ↗
According to available information, the transfer fee ranges between 55 and 60 million euros. Cucurella is set to be one of the reinforcements for new coach José Mourinho, who has been involved in rebuilding the squad since his return to the Santiago Bernabéu. Before the deal was confirmed, it was reported that other Spanish clubs, including Barcelona and Atlético Madrid, were also interested in the defender. El Pais ↗
Real is also working on the broader composition of the team and coaching staff. Media reported that Mourinho wants to bring former German international Sami Khedira into his team. Antonio Rüdiger also remains in defense, having extended his contract with Real Madrid by another year on top of the contract signed after his arrival from Chelsea. SITA ↗
Chelsea also came up in connection with the England national team during the same period. Following an injury to Tino Livramento, Trevor Chalobah was called up to the squad for the World Cup. For Real, however, the most important news is the confirmation of Cucurella's arrival, which fits into Mourinho's plans for the new season. teraz.sk ↗
