Trump piles pressure on Ukraine, Peace Council pledges billions for Gaza's reconstruction

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that US President Donald Trump is putting disproportionate pressure on him to achieve a quick resolution of the Russian-Ukrainian war. Speaking at the Munich Security Conference, Zelenskyy said the United States is pressuring Ukraine far more than Russia to quickly reach a deal with Moscow.

During the first session of Trump's Peace Council, member countries committed to providing five billion dollars for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, as announced by Trump himself. The Slovak delegation at the meeting in the United States was represented by Prime Minister Robert Fico in the role of observer, accepting Trump's invitation.

Cuba responded to Trump's criticisms, declaring that it is not a threat to the United States. The island emphasized its willingness to cooperate with the United States in the fight against drug trafficking, pointing out that the energy blockade imposed by the Trump administration undermines joint efforts in this fight.

Trump is also planning a possible flying visit to Milan during the Winter Olympics, should the US ice hockey team reach the final. Italian authorities are actively preparing for this possibility. In addition, Trump is expected to decide soon on further arms deliveries to Taiwan, despite warnings from Chinese President Xi Jinping. Meanwhile, Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei stated that Trump will not succeed in his effort to destroy Iran, responding to Trump's reservations regarding future negotiations on the nuclear program in Geneva.
