Zapletalová had a strong finish, but according to assessments, it was mainly the opening meters that cost her the chance at victory. She lost pace in the first part of the race and had to catch up with her competitors, although she accelerated significantly in the final straight. The result meant another podium finish in the prestigious series for her, but also disappointment at a narrowly missed opportunity to win. sme.sk ↗

For the Slovak hurdler, it was the second second-place finish in the Diamond League final in a row. A year ago in Zurich, she accepted the same result with joy, but this time in Brussels disappointment prevailed. She entered the final after a successful season and after winning the European Championship title in the 400 meters hurdles, and before the start she said she felt prepared and did not feel any pressure. teraz.sk ↗

The Brussels result confirmed that Zapletalová belongs among the elite of her discipline. At the same time, it showed that in battles for victory in the Diamond League final, even small mistakes at the beginning of the race and differences in hundredths of a second are decisive. ta3.com ↗
