Bayern extended contracts with Eberl and Dreesen until 2029

FC Bayern Munich has extended the contracts of CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and board member for sport Max Eberl ahead of schedule. The management of the German club thereby confirmed that it is counting on both officials in the coming years as well. Deutschlandfunk ↗

The decision concerns two key positions in the club structure. Eberl originally had a contract valid until 2027, but the new contract ties him to Bayern until 2029. Dreesen, who heads the executive board, received the same contract length. The extension was approved by the club’s supervisory board. Tagesspiegel ↗

The move comes after a period in which Eberl’s future was also being addressed. Before the German Cup final, Uli Hoeness publicly questioned his continued role, but later expressed full confidence in him. The club has now confirmed continuity in its leadership through a formal decision.

With this, Bayern is stabilizing its top management positions ahead of further sporting and economic challenges. The contract extensions signal that the club wants to continue with its current management setup and rely on the duo of Dreesen and Eberl in further squad planning as well as strategic direction.
