The Plastic People of the Universe (PPU) je pražská alternativně rocková kapela, která patřila mezi hlavní aktéry československého hnutí undergroundu v době normalizace a inspirovala vznik mnoha dalších undergroundových kapel. Tato avantgardní skupina se v 70. a 80. letech ocitala už svou podstatou v opozici vůči komunistickému režimu v Československu a vzhledem ke svému nekonformnímu zjevu a vystupování často zažívala perzekuce a také věznění. Soudní proces se členy kapely roku 1976 inicioval hnutí Charty 77.
