The Polish authorities detained him after the Ukrainian side handed over information at the end of August through the international police cooperation unit of the Polish police headquarters. The search concerned a man suspected of involvement in an attempted murder on the territory of Ukraine. aktuality.sk ↗

According to Ukrainian information, the Slovak was supposed to have ordered, for money, the murder of a then 60-year-old man near Ternopil in April 2024. Polish media reported that the suspect was supposed to have received the assignment to carry out the murder. The case also mentions several gunshots.

An Interpol red notice serves to locate and provisionally detain a person sought by the judicial authorities of another state. The relevant authorities of the country in which the detained person is located then decide on extradition.

The detention in Poland represents a further step in the cross-border investigation of the case, which involves Slovakia, Poland and Ukraine. There is not yet more detailed information about the further procedural steps against the detained person. teraz.sk ↗
