Switch to summer time will affect night trains, Czech Railways to introduce replacement transport

The switch to summer time on the night of Sunday, March 29, 2026, will impact rail transport in Czechia. Thirteen night trains of České dráhy, mostly international connections, will be affected by the time shift. Four night trains of RegioJet and some night bus connections will be affected as well. novinky.cz ↗ irozhlas.cz ↗

In addition to the effect of the time shift, regular maintenance work is also taking place on the railway lines. On the line between Veselí nad Moravou and Luhačovice, a five-day closure begins on Saturday, during which České dráhy, together with the carrier Arriva, will provide replacement bus transport substituting for all passenger and fast trains. Similarly, a closure begins on Wednesday on the Otrokovice–Zlín section. ekonomickydenik.cz ↗

The traffic situation in the capital is being improved by newly introduced modern technology. On the Central Bohemian lines, the fleet of RegioFox trains, also known as Lišky ("Foxes"), is being expanded. Thirty-eight of these units are already in operation. The development of transport infrastructure is also being addressed by Prague, which, through its city council, approved the purchase of key land plots from České dráhy for the construction of the Olšanská–Habrová tram line, thereby consolidating ownership and moving forward toward the realization of the new line. irozhlas.cz ↗ parlamentnilisty.cz ↗
