Max Verstappen finished qualifying in serious trouble. The Dutch driver crashed and did not record a qualifying time. Despite this disaster, however, the FIA officially permitted him to start in Sunday's Australian Grand Prix. The FIA granted Verstappen permission to start along with Lance Stroll and Carlos Sainz, who also failed to record times in qualifying. sport.sk ↗ teraz.sk ↗

The qualifying result suggests that Mercedes is entering the season as the strongest team. Ahead of the season, Mercedes was expected to be among the main contenders for the Constructors' Championship title, and the season's first qualifying confirms these predictions. Australia will be the place where it becomes clear whether this dominance is merely a result of qualifying day or whether it will also be confirmed in the race itself. sport.pravda.sk ↗
