A few days before the premiere of season 30 of the American singing show The Voice, its four coaches teamed up for a joint performance. Kelly Clarkson, Riley Green, Adam Levine and Queen Latifah chose the hit The Weight by The Band. The video was premiered by Rolling Stone. American Songwriter ↗
Green started on guitar, Levine quickly joined in on drums, while Clarkson and Queen Latifah swayed to the rhythm. Levine sang the first verse alone, and the others joined in for the chorus. The following verses were split between Queen Latifah and Green, and Clarkson, barefoot, sang the final solo. American Songwriter ↗
Levine, who won the previous season, and Clarkson are veterans among the coaches, while Green and Queen Latifah are trying out the coach's chair for the first time. In an interview with Today, Green admitted that Clarkson worries him the most: "She's going to try to get some of my country acts on the show."
