The suspected men reportedly traveled to Bulgaria as tourists. After the European arrest warrants were issued, Bulgarian authorities are also searching for them outside the country's territory. According to findings so far, investigators link them directly to the fire near Sofia. n-tv ↗

The case occurred at a time when similar Starlink equipment was also damaged in Poland. The head of Bulgaria's intelligence service described the incident as sabotage and warned of the possibility of further similar acts. Tagesspiegel ↗

Further proceedings will depend on locating and detaining both suspects. This could then be followed by a decision on their extradition to Bulgaria, where they would face investigation for damaging strategic satellite infrastructure.
