Gyula Balásy is handing over his companies to the state, sparking a wave of criticism

Hungarian businessman Gyula Balásy, known as the creator of government-oriented marketing campaigns and key promotional campaigns, announced in a Monday interview that he is handing over all of his business interests to the state. According to available data, over the past eight years Balásy has received approximately 92 billion forints from his companies in the form of dividends. Balásy's decision has triggered a wide wave of criticism from opposition politicians and public figures. Opposition leaders and activists accuse him of trying to avoid legal trouble and to make people forget his role in the network of government propaganda. Many refer to him as the "frontman" of State Secretary Péter Rogán and as the person behind campaigns that damaged political rivals, including artificially generated videos made using artificial intelligence.
