The most significant step is to be the possibility to draw advances on support in the total value of 200 million euros already from September 15. Originally, their disbursement was expected only from October 1. According to published information, the earlier payment will be tied to an important condition, which is administrative readiness of applications. zurnal.pravda.sk ↗

Part of the package is also an exception concerning mown biomass. The ministry announced several other steps to simplify rules and mitigate the immediate consequences of extreme drought. The Agricultural Payments Agency is also involved in the preparation and implementation of aid. aktuality.sk ↗

The ministry is simultaneously planning investments in irrigation restoration, as drought is becoming a recurring problem for Slovak agriculture. Farmers, according to available information, do not expect significant food price increases so far. Further developments will depend on the extent of damage, the speed of support administration, and on how weather conditions will develop in the coming weeks. Standard.sk ↗
