Braga footballers with Czech goalkeeper Lukáš Horníček did not make it into the Europa League final. Although they beat Freiburg 2:1 in the first semi-final match, they lost 1:3 in the return leg played in Germany during a long period playing a man down. The decisive factor was the red card they received as early as the sixth minute of the match. Managing the team without the sent-off player proved too difficult, and Braga thus failed to hold onto their position to advance to the final. zpravy.aktualne.cz ↗ idnes.cz ↗
Freiburg thus qualified for the decisive Europa League match, where they will face Aston Villa. For Horníček and his team, the European cup journey ended, even though the start of the semi-final had promised success. Playing a man down from the start of the match significantly complicated Braga's defense, and the German team demonstrably made full use of this advantage. Freiburg's advancement means that the Czech goalkeeper will not play in the final of this prestigious European competition this season. denik.cz ↗ denik.cz ↗
