Ministry secured permits for new repatriation flight to Muscat, plane heading to Slovakia

The Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic has managed to obtain the necessary permits for another repatriation flight from Oman. The plane is heading to Muscat, Slovakia, and is scheduled for Friday. This is a positive development after the diplomatic ministry had to cancel a planned fifth repatriation flight due to limited aircraft handling capacity at the airport in Muscat. startitup.sk ↗ hnonline.sk ↗

Meanwhile, two more repatriation flights landed in Bratislava. One Ministry of Interior aircraft secured the return of citizens from Amman in Jordan, and a Ministry of Defense aircraft transported further passengers to Slovakia from Muscat in Oman. These flights represent a continuation of the repatriation operations that the ministry initiated in connection with the large number of Slovak citizens on holiday in Middle Eastern countries. teraz.sk ↗ Refresher.sk ↗

The situation is also gradually normalizing at the international level. The airlines Emirates and Etihad Airways have resumed part of their flights from the Middle East. Although the airport in Doha, Qatar, remains closed, a smaller number of evacuation flights have been organized from Oman and Saudi Arabia. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Slovak Republic continues to prepare further repatriation flights for Slovaks in the region and is negotiating the optimization of the flight schedule in line with the current capacities at individual airports. teraz.sk ↗ irozhlas.cz ↗
