Trump expands pressure on Ukraine and Iran, new tariffs come into effect

US President Donald Trump continues his aggressive foreign policy and domestic measures. Countries worldwide are facing a new wave of uncertainty after the new ten-percent global tariff on all imports into the USA takes effect on February 24 and will remain in force for 150 days. Trump decided on this measure just hours after the US Supreme Court struck down his previous extensive tariffs. Companies that raised prices because of the original tariffs now find themselves uncertain about the new tariff scheme and future developments.

On the energy front, Trump is increasing pressure on Iran by threatening military strikes in connection with Iran's nuclear program. Serbia responded to the tension by urging its citizens in Iran to leave the country as soon as possible. In the Ukrainian conflict, Trump, unlike his predecessor Joe Biden, is pushing Ukraine toward territorial concessions and reducing Western support.

The domestic agenda also includes an order to release government documents concerning aliens and unidentified flying objects. Trump accused former President Barack Obama of leaking classified information in this area.

Analysts emphasized that the Supreme Court's decision was significant especially because conservative justices also voted against Trump's tariffs, which carried a message about the judiciary's independence from the executive branch.
