Macinka rokoval s Trumpom na Rade mieru, návšteva Česka je možná

Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs Petr Macinka met with top representatives of the American administration at the first session of US President Donald Trump's Peace Council. Macinka held talks with President Trump, who, according to the minister, spoke positively about Czechia and recalled Ivana Trump. In addition to Trump, Macinka also met with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his deputy Christopher Landau.

Macinka acted as an observer for Czechia at the session of the Peace Council. The minister pointed out that a visit by Trump to Czechia is a real possibility. Czech opposition parties reacted to his participation with mixed views. While some lawmakers described Macinka's participation in the first session of the Peace Council as practical experience, others, such as MP Lipavský, remained cautious.

Macinka's diplomatic activity took place at a time when his appearance at the Munich Security Conference, where he had a sharp clash with former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, was still being reflected in the media. Trump's public praise of the minister for this debate attracted considerable attention. Macinka also published a commentary in the American daily New York Post, in which he offers proposals for strengthening the security of the West.

While part of the Czech public is skeptical of Trump's actions, Macinka has managed to gain positive attention within the American establishment. Talks with the highest representatives of the American administration represent a diplomatic shift and confirm the growing engagement of Czech diplomacy in American security initiatives.
