Spalletti admitted steps backward. Juventus in major danger before the return leg against Galatasaray

Juventus coach Thiago Motta did not hide his disappointment after the 2:5 defeat in Turkey and admitted that his team had taken several steps back. Nevertheless, he stated that they will attempt a comeback in the return leg against Galatasaray Istanbul. The Italian club suffered its fourth-highest defeat in European competition and its third defeat in the Champions League ever. In the first leg of the play-off for the round of 16, Motta concluded that Juventus had failed comprehensively, especially in the second half, when the home team scored four goals. After the first half of the match, Juventus was leading 2:1, but given the second half, this cannot be considered an adequate reflection of the performance. Dutch midfielder Noa Lang scored two goals for Galatasaray and thus contributed to the home side's triumph. Juventus is therefore taking a major loss away from Turkey and must face the challenges of the return leg. Given such a performance, this Italian team will have great difficulty advancing to the round of 16 of the Champions League. The return leg is scheduled for the coming days, when it will be decided whether Juventus retains a chance of further progress in the European competition or ends up out of the play-off.
