Nitra decided the match with a dominant stretch during which it scored three goals in a single power play within 2:13 minutes. The result ranks among the most remarkable performances by a Slovak team in the history of the Champions Hockey League. SITA ↗
The Slovak club earned eight points in six group-stage matches. Following the victory over Rögle, it moved into the last qualifying spot, although its participation in the knockout phase still depends on further developments in the group and the results of other teams. STVR (Minúta po minúte) ↗
Rögle was among Nitra's prestigious opponents and, playing at home, was unable to make the match dramatic. Nitra, on the other hand, delivered a performance that was praised even in the broader context of Slovak hockey. The victory brought them not only important points but also a real hope of continuing in the competition. sport.sk ↗
The final decision on Nitra's advancement to the round of 16 will depend on its position in the final table once the results of the sixth round are closed. The club is thus still waiting to confirm whether, after a successful group stage, it will also play in the knockout phase of the Champions Hockey League. sport.sk ↗
