British singer Shygirl has announced her second studio album Swallow!, which will be released on November 6. She also released the single Lucky (Hymn) along with a video. The club scene she's associated with is swapped here for another kind of euphoria: the track has a trip-hop sheen, driven by a strumming acoustic guitar and layered, airy vocals. The album was produced by Karma Kid and Casey MQ. In the press release, Shygirl described it as a "reintroduction" rooted in her electronic background. It was inspired by new love and a focus on romantic songs in an indie vein. She began recording it shortly after the release of her 2022 debut album Nymph. The FADER ↗
Shygirl, real name Blane Muise, was born in 1993 in south London. She is a singer, DJ and rapper, and co-founder of the label and collective Nuxxe. She has also released the EPs Cruel Practice, Alias and Club Shy, and her debut Nymph was very well received by critics.
