Audi lowers 2026 outlook after weak first half

Audi has worsened its full-year 2026 outlook after its worst first half in five years. The Volkswagen Group automaker now expects revenue of 58 to 63 billion euros, which is lower than the previous forecast. Trend ↗

The company also expects weaker profitability. Return on sales is now expected to be one percentage point lower than originally projected, reaching 5 to 7 percent. The lowered outlook comes at a time of increasing pressure for a savings program at the automaker. According to available information, CFO Jürgen Rittersberger has further reinforced this pressure. novinky.cz ↗

Several problems lie behind the weaker performance at once. Audi is facing a decline in the Chinese market, growing competition, US tariffs, and the consequences of the crisis in the Middle East. These factors are worsening conditions in the global automotive industry and narrowing the room to achieve the originally planned results. teraz.sk ↗

Despite the lowered forecast, the automaker still expects the second half of the year to bring improvement. Developments will depend mainly on the situation in China, trade conditions in the US, and the company's ability to push through savings without further weakening sales. Die Zeit ↗
