American actor, director and producer Kevin Bacon arrived at the film festival in Karlovy Vary on the evening of Friday, July 10, together with his wife Kyra Sedgwick and son Travis Bacon. On the red carpet in front of the Hotel Thermal, they jointly presented the film Family Film, which was screened in the Grand Hall approximately an hour before midnight. novinky.cz ↗
The film's title also refers to the fact that members of the Bacon family took part in it. Bacon and Sedgwick appear as American actors and directors, and Travis Bacon joined them as part of the family delegation. The film's presentation was one of the main events of the festival's eighth day, during which other foreign guests also presented their films in Karlovy Vary, including Juliette Binoche and Jeffrey Wright. ceskenoviny.cz ↗
Before arriving in Karlovy Vary, the family stayed in Prague, where they made use of the time ahead of the festival program. However, on Friday evening they headed to the Thermal, where the guests addressed the audience in Czech as well during the film's presentation. According to available information, it was a brief festival visit, as the family delegation was scheduled to be in Vary for only a limited time. novinky.cz ↗
The Bacons' appearance fit into the packed close of the festival week, during which screenings of notable foreign titles alternate in Karlovy Vary with personal presentations of films by their creators. Family Film thus introduced the festival not only to a new film, but also to a joint project by a well-known acting family. idnes.cz ↗
