Prague and the Central Bohemian Region Want to Stand Up to Babiš's Pressure
The joint defense is related to the restriction of funds that, according to the description of the situation, affects Prague and Central Bohemia. Hlaváček and Pecková therefore plan to coordinate their further approach and stand up to decisions made by the Babiš-led government. The specific form of the intended cooperation, as well as concrete financial amounts, have not yet been disclosed.
At the same time, the political situation in the metropolis was influenced by the failure of the ANO movement in Prague. According to the commentary, the result was taken particularly hard by Andrej Babiš, who is the chairman of the movement and its leader in Prague. He subsequently immediately reproached Praguers for their stance. reflex.cz ↗
Commentator Jana Bendová stated that Praguers understand Babiš, while, according to her, they understand President Petr Pavel somewhat less. Her assessment thus contrasts the political mood in the capital with the result of the ANO movement.
Further developments will depend on whether Prague and the Central Bohemian Region actually unify their approach and how the government sets up financing for the region. The joint approach by Hlaváček and Pecková could represent a more pronounced political response to the cabinet's decisions.
