Bayern Munich completed its Bundesliga dominance by winning the 2025/2026 championship title. Legendary goalkeeper Manuel Neuer signed a long-term contract until the end of the 2026/2027 season after months of discussions about his future. n-tv ↗

Bayern is now preparing for the DFB Cup final against VfB Stuttgart, which will take place in Berlin. However, the club will be without its captain Manuel Neuer, who has recently been suffering from a calf muscle injury. Neuer will be replaced in goal by Jonas Urbig. Despite this loss, the final remains a chance for Bayern to secure the double and at the same time represents an important opportunity for Harry Kane, who has not yet achieved greater trophy success in his career. Eleven players from the German World Cup squad are expected to feature in this match, transforming the final into an important event ahead of the World Cup. Sueddeutsche Zeitung ↗

A surprising change has occurred on the national team front. Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann named Manuel Neuer as the number one goalkeeper in the German World Cup squad, thereby displacing the previous first-choice goalkeeper Oliver Baumann of Hoffenheim. Baumann has already been informed of this by phone, but he will nevertheless travel with the team to the World Cup in North America. Harry Kane was included in the squad of English coach Thomas Tuchel and expressed his belief that the current England team is the best he has ever been part of, with a chance to break England's sixty-year World Cup curse. Bayern is also facing further changes. David Alaba said farewell to Real Madrid, where he spent five years and won the Champions League and the Spanish La Liga twice each. Former Bundesliga player Lars Bender will join the club as a youth football assistant. At the same time, the club is trying to address the health condition of Canadian defender Alphonso Davies ahead of the World Cup in his home country. Der Standard ↗

Bayern is also focusing on stabilizing its squad for the upcoming season, with the coaches recently paying tribute to their role model Pep Guardiola, who is ending a ten-year era at Manchester City with twenty titles. Spiegel.de ↗
