Nikózia je hlavné a zároveň najväčšie mesto Cypru. Mesto je obchodné centrum, sídlo vlády. Geograficky je mesto umiestnené v strede ostrova pri ústí rieky Pedieos. V meste žije celkom 309 500 obyvateľov, z toho v gréckej časti 47 832, s aglomeráciou 224 500 a v tureckej časti 85 000.
