Hip-hop je hudobný žáner, ktorý sa vyvíjal ako súčasť hip-hopovej kultúry a je definovaný štyrmi kľúčovými štylistickými prvkami: rap, DJing/scratching, samplovanie a beatbox. Hip-hop vznikol v Južnom Bronxe v New Yorku v 70-tych rokoch. Termín rap je často používaný ako synonymum k hip-hopu, ale hip-hop označuje prakticky celú subkultúru.
