The Czech pairs skating duo Anna Valesiová and Martin Bidař advanced to the free skate of the figure skating World Championships, which is being held in Prague. Although they fell during the short program on a discarded triple lutz, they still secured qualification and could thus look forward to the chance of a showdown in the next part of the competition. lidovky.cz ↗

Ahead of the World Championships, Valesiová and Bidař made an important change to the content of their free skate. Instead of the easier triple throw salchow, they included the better-scored triple lutz, in order to secure a better starting position for the final contest. These decisions were thoroughly tested and prepared in training. lidovky.cz ↗

During the competition, the Czech pair received significant support from the spectators, which encouraged them to further effort. According to Bidař himself, the spectators were amazing already during the warm-up, which created an encouraging atmosphere for their performance. sport.cz - fotbal ↗

Halfway through the competition, the German pairs skating duo Minerva Fabienne Hase and Nikita Volodin held a certain advantage, staying in the lead with a slim margin of just 33 hundredths. According to all indications, the fight for gold will be a dramatic contest decided by the details. Valesiová and Bidař therefore have a real chance of success in the upcoming free skate. sport.cz - fotbal ↗
