VŠMU Students Record Slovak Piano and Chamber Classics. Triple Album Rodinné striebro Released

The Faculty of Music and Dance of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava is releasing, together with the label Real Music House, the triple album Rodinné striebro (Family Silver, 2022–2025). It presents the Slovak piano and chamber repertoire performed by the faculty's students and their guests. The project was created between 2022 and 2025 with the support of the Cultural and Educational Grant Agency of the Ministry of Education. Hudba.zoznam.sk ↗

The first disc focuses on works inspired by folk motifs and nature, featuring pieces by Ján Cikker, Mikuláš Schneider-Trnavský, Rudolf Országh, Ivan Parík, and excerpts from cycles by Eugen Suchoň. The second disc shows the dance-oriented and virtuosic side of the piano repertoire, from Dezider Lauko's Slovak Dances and Buchom s osekanci by Alexander Moyzes to Ilja Zeljenka's Dance of Masks and Ladislav Kupkovič's Polka in C minor.
