Nosková equalized the break late in the first set, but Sabalenka prevailed in the tiebreak. The Czech player then took the second set 6:3 and took the lead in the deciding set. However, Sabalenka erased the deficit, and the outcome was decided in the tiebreak of the third set. kultura.pravda.sk ↗
This is Sabalenka's sixth consecutive US Open semifinal. The winner of the previous two editions of the tournament moved closer to defending her title again. Nosková failed to convert her chance for her first Grand Slam semifinal. denik.cz ↗
The result also kept Sabalenka in contention for the world number one position. However, her position at the top of the rankings remains at risk depending on how the rest of the tournament unfolds.
