Months after the death of Abraham Quintanilla, the patriarch of the family, an open legal dispute over the inheritance of the late singer Selena Quintanilla erupted within the family. A.B. Quintanilla, Selena's brother, initiated legal proceedings against his sister Suzette, accusing her of financial irregularities related to Selena's estate. JeneSaisPop ↗
A.B. Quintanilla claims that he discovered the problems precisely during this proceeding. "I never imagined that a day would come when I would have to face such a situation," he stated. He points to alleged embezzlement of funds and family property. JeneSaisPop ↗
Suzette categorically denies the accusations together with her mother Marcella Quintanilla. In a statement, she states that she "did not steal, did not embezzle, nor did she unlawfully use money or property belonging to A.B., Abraham, Marcella, Chris, or to Selena's inheritance". JeneSaisPop ↗
Both siblings played a key role in Selena's career and traditionally appeared united whenever they spoke about her. However, their relationship has significantly deteriorated in recent months, culminating in this public confrontation. The dispute remains a topic on social networks and in specialized media.
