Police detain wanted Georgian man with altered identity

Police on Friday detained an internationally wanted citizen of Georgia who had been hiding in Slovakia under an altered identity. According to information from Lea Vilhanová, spokeswoman of the Police Force Presidium, the case concerned a man suspected of burglary and theft, for whom a European arrest warrant had been issued by Greece in December 2021. pravda.sk ↗

The man had reportedly attempted to obtain temporary residence in Michalovce using a foreign passport. His identity was uncovered through fingerprints, which showed that he was a person wanted abroad. He was detained by police officers from Prešov. korzar.sme.sk ↗
