Pellegrini set to appoint new ambassadors on Wednesday

President Peter Pellegrini has announced that on Wednesday morning, June 17, he will appoint several Slovak ambassadors at the Presidential Palace. He did not give names, but Peter Kmec and Miroslav Radačovský have long been mentioned in connection with the expected ceremony. ta3.com ↗

Pellegrini had previously confirmed that the appointment of new ambassadors, including Kmec and Radačovský, should take place in the week after June 14. Kmec is to be posted to Rome and Radačovský to Cyprus. Regarding Radačovský, the president stated that the lawmaker had fulfilled all the conditions necessary for appointment. Questions had previously concerned mainly his lack of diplomatic experience and controversial public statements. On Tuesday, the president also addressed the document "Vision of Slovakia to 2040," whose third working version he reviewed during a visit to the Slovak Academy of Sciences. He emphasized that governing from election to election without a vision is a problem for any country, and praised the experts preparing the document.
