The Colorado Avalanche hockey players won on Tuesday in Game 4 of the second round of the NHL playoffs on the ice of the Minnesota Wild, 5:2. Czech forward Martin Nečas contributed to the victory with two assists. The win moved Colorado into a 3:1 series lead, meaning the Avalanche are now just one win away from advancing to the Western Conference final. irozhlas.cz ↗ zpravy.aktualne.cz ↗
The decisive goal in the 52nd minute was scored by Parker Kelly, who increased Colorado's lead to 3:2. With this goal, Colorado created what became the decisive, so-called match-winning goal. Minnesota managed to narrow the score thanks to Nico Sturm, who recorded his first playoff goal in nearly five years. However, Sturm's goal could not prevent the visiting team's victory. teraz.sk ↗ sport.pravda.sk ↗
The 3:1 series lead in Colorado's favor means the Avalanche now have an excellent position to advance to the next round. In the next game, the home team will have the advantage, where they could secure their spot in the semifinal battles for the Stanley Cup. Minnesota Wild thus retained only a theoretical chance of a comeback, which would require winning the fifth game of the series. Tagesspiegel ↗ Die Zeit ↗
