Michelko: Europe has no clear plan to end the war

MP of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Roman Michelko (SNS) stated in a Sunday discussion program that Europe does not have a clear political plan for resolving the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. According to him, there is no concrete vision of how the war should end. aktuality.sk ↗

Michelko presented his position in connection with the ongoing debate about the approach of European countries regarding the war in Ukraine. He did not specify in more detail what steps European states should take in his view, nor what plan should replace the current policy.

MP Alojz Hlina also joined the discussion. In this context, he asked whether the SNS would terminate the coalition agreement in connection with the vote on sending Slovak soldiers to the Baltics. The information provided does not indicate that a decision or binding position from the party was given on this question. teraz.sk ↗

The topic of sending soldiers to the Baltics is connected to the debate about Slovakia's security commitments and its role within allied cooperation. Michelko's statement also shows the differing positions of coalition MPs on the continuation of the war and on how Europe should respond.

Further developments will depend on negotiations about Slovakia's military participation in the Baltics and on the SNS's stance toward the coalition agreement. It is not yet known whether the political debate will lead to concrete changes in Slovak foreign or security policy.
