LeBron James will continue his basketball career in the 2026/27 season, but no longer as a Los Angeles Lakers player. The decision by the forty-one-year-old star was announced to the media by his agent, Rich Paul. seznamzpravy.cz ↗
James played for the Lakers for the past eight seasons. With the club, he won the NBA championship title in 2020, which was the fourth of his career after the triumphs of 2012, 2013, and 2016. The American basketball player is the league's all-time leader in points scored, and according to available information, his next season will already be his twenty-fourth in the NBA, which represents an exceptional milestone. hnonline.sk ↗
His departure from Los Angeles raises the question of where he will play next. Several media outlets cite the Golden State Warriors, where Stephen Curry plays, as a possible destination, but James's new club has not yet been confirmed. The only certainty is that he will not end his career and will continue in the league outside the Lakers. irozhlas.cz ↗
The decision marks the end of a significant chapter both in his career and in the history of the Los Angeles club. Further developments will depend on negotiations regarding his new team and what role James will have in the 2026/27 season. Telex ↗
