Purja, also known by the nickname Nimsdai, was among the most famous climbers of his generation. In 2019 he climbed all fourteen eight-thousanders in a record time of 189 days, and a Netflix documentary also brought him international fame. He was a former member of the British special forces, and in 2021, together with other Nepali climbers, he took part in the first winter ascent of K2. irozhlas.cz ↗
