FC Barcelona is entering the next phase of its preparation for the season with several open questions remaining in the squad. The club has most recently signed winger Bisiwu from Club Brugge, who, according to Spanish media, has signed a contract until June 30, 2031, and is expected to start out with Barcelona's reserve team. teraz.sk ↗
The Catalan club had already bolstered its offense with the arrival of Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund. According to available figures, the transfer is set to cost approximately 29 million euros including possible bonuses. Coach Hansi Flick is thus expanding the attacking options of the team, which is defending its Spanish title. SITA ↗
Barcelona also failed to win its opening preparatory match against Birmingham. Two goals from Egyptian international Hamza Abdelkarim were not enough, and the team lost on penalties. Hungarian national team goalkeeper Áron Yaakobishvili made his first-team debut in this match and also took part in the penalty shootout. El Pais ↗
An unfavorable piece of news remains the condition of Frenkie de Jong, who has a torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee and may miss the start of the season. Most recently, the future of Ferran Torres is also being decided, as Arsenal, Tottenham, Atletico Madrid, and PSG are all interested in him, while Barcelona wants to keep the forward. teraz.sk ↗
Tension has also increased on the transfer market. Atletico Madrid filed a complaint against Barcelona over negotiations with Alvarez, after the Catalan club's interest in acquiring him grew. In addition, FIFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against several Argentina players and Gavi over incidents following the World Cup final.
Departures continue in the women's team, as Salma Paralluelo has moved from Barcelona to Lyon. Ahead of the new season, the club is thus dealing with squad reinforcements, injury absences, transfer disputes, and disciplinary matters alike.
