In the coming weeks, Zverev will move up to first place in the rankings and, according to the ATP players' organization, will end the season as world number one. He will replace Italian Jannik Sinner at the top. The exact moment of the ranking change depends on the further development of the tournament and the results of the top players. Deutschlandfunk ↗
This is a historic achievement for German tennis. Zverev will be the first German since the days of Boris Becker to reach the top of the men's world rankings. At the same time, he will become the first German tennis player to finish a calendar year as world number one. n-tv ↗
