German participant Sarah Engels with the song "Fire" finished in 23rd place and received zero points from the viewers. Nevertheless, according to available information, she delivered a strong performance that was warmly received by the public. Although Engels had a lighthearted attitude toward participating in the festival and, as the German entry, was not considered a favorite, her performance in the first part of the final received a positive response. n-tv ↗ n-tv ↗

Germany's worsened result at the Eurovision Song Contest represents the third-worst result among all finalists. The change to the voting system introduced this year had an impact on the final ranking of all performers. Bulgaria's victory represents a significant success for the country on the international music scene and at the same time represents a strong performance for southeastern Europe within the popular music festival.
