The defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder continue their dominant NBA playoff run, eliminating the Los Angeles Lakers with a convincing 4-0 series result. Thunder are playing without a hitch — during the regular season the Western Conference team racked up a host of convincing wins, and they are maintaining that form in the playoffs. The Los Angeles Lakers found no answer to their game and lost the fourth game of the series 110:115 on their home court. Der Standard ↗ teraz.sk ↗

The most significant consequence of the Lakers' elimination is the uncertain future of basketball legend LeBron James. The star needs to decide on his future after failing to advance further with the Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron James is the only player in NBA history to have played 23 consecutive seasons in the professional league. The question of whether he will continue his career is becoming more pressing, and the Lakers' management will have to respect his decision. BBC News ↗ n-tv ↗

Meanwhile, a different development is unfolding in the East, where the Cleveland Cavaliers have tied their series with the Detroit Pistons. The team from Ohio won at home against Detroit 116:109, evening the series at 2:2, giving them a chance to turn the series around. Dennis Schröder and his teammates thus remain in contention for advancing to the next rounds of the playoffs. Meanwhile, Thunder have advanced to the NBA Western Conference finals, where they await their opponent. The future outcome of the individual series will be decisive for the shape of the conference finals. Spiegel.de ↗ sport.sk ↗
