Ukitas release single Mám čas, dedicated to a friend they tragically lost
The Slovak duo Ukitas has released the single Mám čas (I Have Time), produced by Matej Vávra. According to the press release, it reminds us that we don't have to be slaves to the clock or to the feeling that we're always falling behind. ZN.sk, press release ↗
Nikola Jankovská wrote the song while on maternity leave, when she had, in her own words, time she had never had before. “Young people today have so many options that one day isn't enough to get around to everything,” she says. ZN.sk, press release ↗
She sings it together with Terézia Gregušová, with additional vocals by Katarína Ščevlíková. The lyrics were written by Jankovská and Vávra, and the mix and master were done by Maiky Beatz. YouTube ↗
The video follows two seemingly unrelated situations. A girl misses her train and, instead of rushing after another one, ends up having coffee with a stranger. A busy father closes his laptop during a work video call and picks up his child. Both storylines gradually connect and finally intersect several years later. ZN.sk, press release ↗
The song also has a personal dimension for both singers. They dedicated it to their friend Daniel, whom they tragically lost this summer. “He was the kind of friend who always had time for us,” says Terézia Gregušová. ZN.sk, press release ↗
