Chromiak waited six years for an opportunity in the most prestigious hockey league. Los Angeles drafted him in 2020 in the fifth round, and before being called up to the first team, he played four full seasons in the AHL. At the start of the current season, he was playing for the Ontario Reign. dennikn.sk ↗

Before the game, he received the phone call of a lifetime informing him that he would play in the NHL. He had only a few hours left to prepare for the game. The Slovak forward said he had no time left to be nervous. sport.sk ↗

After the game, he earned praise from both his coach and a teammate. Although he did not register a point in the box score, his performance in his first appearance in the league was rated positively. Chromiak became the 101st Slovak hockey player to play in the NHL, and also the twelfth player from Slovakia in the history of the Los Angeles Kings. SITA ↗

His debut represents another step in a career that has moved up to the first team after a long stint in the minors. Whether he stays in the Kings' lineup will be decided by his performances in the games to come.
