The 14th edition of the Prague Signal Festival will take place from October 15 to 18 and will mark the 90th anniversary of Václav Havel's birth. This year's edition, themed Dream On! Dreams and Visions, will also offer a program in Dejvice, where a festival trail and a student zone will be created. denikn.cz ↗
The program will include two installations dedicated to Václav Havel and his legacy. The festival will also commemorate his essay The Power of the Powerless, which is among the significant texts associated with his public work. One of the planned works is a video mapping titled Life. zpravy.aktualne.cz ↗
The commemoration of Havel's birth falls on October 5. The festival will link it not only with audiovisual installations but also with a panel discussion. The organizers will thus include, alongside digital and creative culture, the theme of the former president's civic and social legacy in the program.
This year's trail in Dejvice will expand the festival space beyond its traditional Prague locations. The student zone is meant to be another part of the program of the fourteenth edition, whose main motif is dreams and visions. In October, the Signal Festival will thus bring together art installations, public space, and a commemoration of Václav Havel.
