Florence Road formed in 2019 in the town of Bray in County Wicklow and consist of singer and guitarist Lily Aron, guitarist Emma Brandon, bassist Ailbhe Barry, and drummer Hannah Kelly. They drew attention in 2025 with the single Heavy, having previously built an audience on TikTok with cover versions. On SuperMusic.cz, they were added along with the lyrics to Heavy, Hanging Out To Dry, and Storm Warnings.
The Irish indie scene has been through an exceptionally strong period — from Fontaines D.C. through Gilla Band and Sprints to Lankum — and Florence Road are one of the first all-female quartets of this wave. They have signed with Warner.
