Simply Red plan a funk tour, Summer Funk '27, for summer 2027
Videos
Simply Red will set out on the Summer Funk '27 tour in the summer of 2027, bringing Mick Hucknall and his band back to European stages after celebrating forty years of their career in 2025. The program is set to lean toward the funkier and livelier side of their repertoire: alongside the big hits, songs such as Fairground, Something Got Me Started and Money's Too Tight (To Mention) will also be played. The tour will visit several striking locations, such as the amphitheater in Pompeii, the Roman amphitheater in Pula, Croatia, and Sauerlandpark in Hemer, Germany. At London's Gunnersbury Park, the band will play for the very first time. In Italy, they have announced five concerts: 25 June at St Mark's Square in Venice, 26 July in Rome, 27 July in Pompeii, 28 July in Bari, and 30 July at the Lucca Summer Festival. General ticket sales for the Italian concerts will begin on 25 September. OndaRock ↗
Alongside Hucknall, Simply Red today features Ian Kirkham (saxophone and wind instruments), Kenji Suzuki (guitar), Kevin Robinson (trumpet and percussion), Roman Roth (drums), Gary Sanctuary (keyboards) and Orefo Orakwue (bass). OndaRock ↗
