Devout is the first track since the group signed with the label Domino — meaning the first under the new label and with a new producer at the same time. According to Mondo Sonoro, it marks a new chapter for the band, with more news expected to come soon. Atticus Ross, meanwhile, is a name that doesn't often appear in the context of the British guitar scene — with Trent Reznor he has an Oscar-winning film score to his name, and his style is more electronic than club-oriented. The collaboration with a band that builds on synthesizers and dance pulse thus makes more sense than it might seem at first glance.
